What does VIDA Alliance do?
We help dogs find safe homes through adoption, rehoming, fostering, and volunteer support. We also provide compassionate rehoming for dogs whose owners have been deported.

What happens to dogs whose owners have been deported?
We prioritize safe, loving placements. Our team screens adopters and foster homes, coordinates transport when available, and keeps the process confidential and respectful.

How do I rehome my dog?
Complete our contact form and share your dog’s history, behavior, and medical records. We’ll guide next steps, create a profile, and match with pre-screened adopters or fosters.

How long does rehoming take?
Timelines vary based on the dog’s age, size, health, and behavior. Many placements happen within a few weeks; some dogs take longer. We’ll give you regular updates.

What if I need urgent help due to deportation?
Contact us immediately at vida.alliance.info@gmail.com with “Urgent Rehome” in the subject line. We will triage your case and provide the fastest safe option available.

What documents do I need to rehome a dog?
Any vet records (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip), a few clear photos, and a brief behavior summary. If documents are unavailable, we’ll discuss alternatives.

Are my details kept confidential?
Yes. We keep personal information private and only share what’s necessary to place the dog safely. See our Privacy Policy for your rights and data practices.

How do I adopt a dog?
Browse available dogs on our site, submit an application, complete a brief interview and home check (virtual or in-person), and meet the dog. Approved adopters sign an adoption agreement.

Is there an adoption fee?
If an adoption fee applies, it will be listed with the dog and helps cover veterinary care, microchipping, and other essentials. Fee waivers may be available in hardship cases.

Can I meet a dog before adopting?
Yes. After approval, we arrange a meet-and-greet (virtual or in-person). For some dogs, we offer a trial adoption period to ensure a good fit.

What is expected of foster caregivers?
Provide daily care, basic training, and transport to vet or adoption events as needed. We supply guidance and, when possible, essentials like food, crate, or medical costs.

How long is a typical foster stay?
Usually 2–6 weeks, depending on the dog and adopter interest. We’ll discuss your availability and only place dogs that match your capacity.

Do you accept owner surrenders that are not deportation-related?
No. VIDA Alliance exists to serve dogs whose owners have been deported. For other rehoming needs, we can suggest outside resources.

How do you screen adopters and fosters?
Applications, reference checks, interviews, and a home check (virtual or in-person). We look for safety, stability, and a lifestyle that suits the dog.

What support do you offer after placement?
Post-adoption/foster check-ins, training tips, and behavior resources. If a placement isn’t working, contact us promptly so we can help.

Where do you operate?
We focus on our regional community of Los Angeles County and partner with reputable groups for out-of-area placements when appropriate. Transport availability depends on each case.

Are you accepting donations?
Not yet. We will update the website when we are officially able to accept donations.

For now we can accept volunteers and foster homes, this would greatly help.

Are you a government or legal service?
No. We are not a government agency and do not provide legal advice. We can refer you to community resources when appropriate.

What languages do you support?
We aim to assist in English and Spanish. If you need another language, email us and we’ll try to accommodate or connect you with help.

How do I contact VIDA Alliance?
